Elderly Couple Attributes Decades-Long Marriage to Matching Outfits
Mel and Joey Schwanke of Fremont, Nebraska, have been married for 64 years and change. Their secret? “We don’t dare go somewhere without having matching outfits,” Mr. Schwanke told KETV.
Indeed, the two have spent the past 35 years meticulously coordinating their attire, though they can’t quite remember why. “I don’t remember how that first outfit came about,” Mel said.
Yet still they carry on the tradition every single day. Though, with 146 custom-made matching outfits in their closet, it does take a few minutes to find what goes with which.
